Innovative start-up ideas are supported. Rostock is becoming increasingly attractive as a start-up location and there is a large network.
The university has published an exciting blog article about our project. Feel free to take a look:
What does the University of Rostock have to do with business start-ups? Quite a few things, actually!
The Center for Entrepreneurship (ZfE) and the Digital Innovation Center (DIZ) at the University of Rostock promote innovative ideas, support start-ups and advance the digital transformation (in Rostock).
As a concrete example of our career: Martin Blum, our idea generator, developed the idea for our project during his music studies. As a musician, immersed in the new idea, it was important for Martin to get a business perspective on the idea. For this, he contacted Martin Setzkorn from the Center for Entrepreneurship, who gave him comprehensive advice on the idea, how to implement it and possible funding. After Martin had put together the team for our project, we created an idea paper in cooperation with the ZfE and received the EXIST-Gründerstipendium on this basis. Thanks to the grant, we are financially secured for one year and can fully concentrate on the project. In addition, the university with the ZfE and our mentor from the field of computer science, Professor Alke Martens, are always available to us as advisors.
What does this mean for you?
If you have an innovative idea that came up in the shower or during a research project at the university, we can highly recommend contacting the above-mentioned institutions as early as possible. No matter how far advanced the idea is, in any case you will be helped and in the best case you will be able to apply for an EXIST-Gründerstipendium, just like we did, and realize your idea!
